Four new faces elected to IRE Board
Election results from June 7, 2008, IRE membership meeting
Three incumbents and four new members were elected to the IRE Board of Directors at the annual membership meeting in Miami:
- Incumbent Manny Garcia, The Miami Herald
- Incumbent Stephen C. Miller, The New York Times
- Incumbent Duff Wilson, The New York Times
- New member Jason Grotto, Chicago Tribune
- New member Mc Nelly Torres, South Florida Sun-Sentinel
- New member Lawan Williams, KSHB-Kansas City, Mo.
- New member Phil Williams, WTVF-Nashville
New board member Jason Grotto declared his candidacy at the 2008 IRE Conference. Two candidates originally on the absentee ballot, Rhonda Schwartz of ABC and Dianna Hunt of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, withdrew their candidacy prior to the election.
IRE members whose membership status will be current through July 1, 2008, were eligible to vote. Members who did not attend the contest were allowed to vote by absentee ballot.
