IRE and Esri fellowships awarded

IRE and Esri, the leading commercial publisher of geographic information system (GIS) software, have awarded 14 fellowships to attend Esri's annual International User Conference and IRE's mapping bootcamp.

Fellowships to the User Conference this week in San Diego were awarded to:

  • Dana Amihere, The Baltimore Sun
  • Gus Begley, Houston Chronicle
  • Wendy Fry, NBC 7-San Diego
  • Greg Miller, Wired
  • Alexandra Nicolas, The Joplin Globe
  • Wil Ramirez, Los Angeles Times
  • Allison Riggio, Crain's Chicago Business
  • Ryan Thornburg, OpenBlock Rural/University of North Carolina
  • Dwight Worley, The Journal News
  • Joe Yerardi, San Antonio Express-News

Fellowships to the mapping bootcamp Aug. 9-11 in Columbia, Mo., were awarded to:

  • Carli Brosseau, Arizona Daily Star
  • Betsy Mason, Wired
  • Wil Ramirez, Los Angeles Times
  • Janelle Stecklein, The Salt Lake Tribune
