Investigative Reporter
Investigative Reporter: The Nerve (www.thenerve.org), an online news site in Columbia, S.C., is seeking a full-time, investigative reporter to cover state government primarily. The Nerve, which launched in January 2010, is a product of the South Carolina Policy Council (www.scpolicycouncil.org), a nonprofit, nonpartisan think tank. We don’t cover elections or politics; instead, we relentlessly follow the public’s money and the actions of politicians while on the public’s dime and time.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s or higher degree; at least five years of work experience, preferably in print journalism; demonstrated writing and research skills; and a burning desire to expose government.
