Lively, Smart New Investigative Nonprofit Paying for Stories

WhoWhatWhy, the exciting new investigative and analytical news website, is starting to pay for freelance work.

Because we are a nonprofit, and functioning without large institutional or other backing, our fees are modest, starting at $150, and are calculated on a case by case basis.

If you have a story idea that you think fits in with what we do—of international or national scope/interest—please get in touch. We insist on the highest reporting and writing standards, but everything else is on the table, including subject area and style. Most importantly we don’t shrink from covering sacred cows.

Before you pitch, please read a good selection of our stories, particularly those in the “original investigations” column, to get a sense of our aesthetic.
