One of the country's largest and most highly honored Investigative teams has a rare opportunity for a specialty editor. ABC15 is the Investigative leader in Phoenix, Arizona. Our Special Projects Editor must integrate visual content and audio material to create compelling investigative stories as well as completing daily editing projects for multiple platforms. Successful candidate will capture visual content and edit long-form stories and daily newscasts as needed. This job requires working with producers, multimedia journalists and photojournalists to ensure a high quality product.
Skills needed include knowledge of and proficiency in posting content to the television station web site plus knowledge and demonstration of creativity, editorial judgment, journalistic ethics and libel laws.
Proficiency in non-linear editing, including Final Cut Pro
Valid driver's license, driving record in compliance with station policy and proof of insurability (liability limits of $100,000 per person/$300,000 per accident/$50,000 property as defined by station policy)
Associate's degree required Generally 5-8 years of experience in related area of responsbility
Able to guide and coach colleagues Thorough/advance knowledge of technical or specialty area and of tasks and responsibilities
Ability to lift and carry loads up to 50 pounds and with equipment, traverse walking distances, up/down stairs, rough terrain
