Investigative Producer

News 12 Networks is the country`s first, largest, and most watched 24-hour local television news network. The Network is made up of 7 individual local news channels serving the areas of Long Island, New Jersey, Southwestern Connecticut, Westchester County, Hudson Valley, the Bronx, and Brooklyn. News 12 Networks, owned and operated by Cablevision Systems Corporation, is a cable exclusive service, reaching approximately 3.8 million households in the New York market.

News 12 is looking for an Investigative producer for multiple News 12 and Newsday operations. Work with Newsday investigative staff and News 12 reporters to facilitate cutting edge investigative stories. Generate story ideas, research and produce compelling content for broadcast and digital media. Conduct interviews, gather information, obtain footage, write and copy edit broadcast scripts, arrange for graphics, supervise editing sessions and perform other functions as necessary. Ensure that all content meets standards for journalistic integrity and production quality. 

A minimum of three years full-time professional tv news producing and/or reporting experience. Experience with print and multi-media greatly preferred. Strong investigative skills, solid news judgment, and ability to enterprise original stories. Must be excellent “team player.” Good command of social media, web search, use of databases and other state-of-the-art news gathering techniques. Strong newswriting ability. Should be flexible to work varying shifts to fit demands of projects. Quick, well organized and able to juggle multiple projects while meeting all deadlines. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to innovate and problem-solve.
