Air Scare
This series includes the breaking news of a terrorist bomber and the advancement of the story by CBS News. The terrorist bomber failed to “fully detonate the deadly ingredients of a powerful bomb on board a flight headed to Detroit from Amsterdam”. The deadly ingredients of the bomb were undetected by security screening in Amsterdam and he had an active visa through June 2010.

Rat Trap
In the story, an FBI informant has been known to hound the targets of the investigation with money and gifts, but also “led them by the nose”. He has also “prodded, persuaded and cajoled the targets to advance plans to launder money supposedly used to purchase an anti-aircraft missile”. So this article brought up the FBI’s use of informants and the ethical lines crossed by some of them.

After serving just half of his sentence, a convicted terrorist was released from prison and deported, though his location is unclear. Another terrorist and bomb maker's whereabouts are unknown. AP reporters Adam Goldman and Randy Herschaft investigate the terrorists and report that that latter of the two was on the run in Syria.

The Dark Side of Plan Colombia
Plan Colombia, which is a multibillion-dollar US assistance package aimed at fighting the cocaine trade. This program supports agriculture projects as an alternative to drug-related crops and violence. Though, this investigation found that most of the program’s funds were supporting the drug-trafficking terrorist networks that Plan Colombia was supposed to defeat. The investigation raises the question of whether the US knew or should have known that it was supporting this trafficking and violence with taxpayer-funded assistance.
