CAR Boot Camp

Jan. 6-11, 2008 — Columbia, Mo.
Computer-Assisted Reporting Boot Camp: These unique seminars train journalists to acquire electronic information, use spreadsheets and databases to analyze the information and to translate that information into high-impact stories. In addition, the institute then provides follow-up help when participants return to their news organizations.

What previous Boot Campers have said about the experience:

“It was intense, but totally inspiring. I feel like I came away with some solid skills.”
- Abigail Sterling Vazquez, KRON-San Francisco

"This is the single-best solution to beat fatigue."
- Mehul Srivastava, Dayton Daily News

“One of the best training programs I’ve ever been through. CAR will revolutionize our industry and lead journalists into a new era.”
- Edward Iwata, USA Today

“This was one of the best training workshops I’ve ever attended. You’ve taken a very intimidating topic and made it easy to understand and apply in my own newsroom.”
- Patrick Powers, Belleville News-Democrat
