The topic of this year's conference, organized by the Lorana Sullivan Foundation and Investigative Reporters and Editors Inc, is "The Investigation of Business and Finance."

For the past six years - 2003 through 2008 - the Lorana Sullivan Foundation has run a Summer School on investigative journalism in London, UK, for the last three of these years at City University. Experienced British, American and continental investigators and trainers presented sessions on a number of important aspects of reporting. The foundation supported a previous Investigating Business Seminar in 2005 at Columbia University.
