• Thursday Courts Track: IRE and Criminal Justice Journalists (CJJ) will present a series of panels on May 30th about "Covering the Court System." This track is also supported by the National Judicial College.

Keynote Speaker
Donald L. Barlett and James B. Steele are editors-at-large for Time Inc. and are the longest running investigative reporting team in American journalism. Recipients of virtually every major national journalism award, Barlett and Steele have examined the IRS, the oil industry, foreign aid, nuclear waste, the dismantling of the American middle class and corporate welfare. Jimmy Breslin is a Newsday columnist and the author of several books, including the recently released "The Short Sweet Dream of Eduardo Gutierrez," an exposé chronicling the life and death of an illegal immigrant worker. Breslin, who won a Pulitzer Prize in 1986 for commentary, has been writing a syndicated newspaper column about corruption and injustice for more than 40 years.
