The world is changing; are you prepared to cover it? Investigative Reporters and Editors and the Online News Association present a Better Watchdog Workshop with a digital twist. Learn skills necessary for reporters who want to dig deeper, navigate the web better, mine social sites, negotiate for information and be more efficient while producing quality work. Offerings are sure to benefit journalists of all experience levels.

In addition, this workshop will give you tips on how to bulletproof stories, how to deal with freedom of information laws and public records, and useful Web sites and strategies for using Internet tools such as wikis, blogs, robots and RSS feeds.

These sessions are designed for reporters, editors and producers from small, midsize and large publications and TV stations and Web-only news sites and news blogs. Join IRE’s experienced trainers and a group of veteran reporters for our Better Watchdog Workshop April 17, with an extra half-day of hands-on computer-assisted reporting training on April 18 for those who are interested.
