It’s been going on for years and despite recent movements, it is still mostly unnoticed: Police officers, uniformed, armed, and on the job, using their authority to pressure and even rape women who call in for help. In an ongoing investigation, KSDK-TV, St. Louis has even discovered cases where victims have been criminally charged and even censored to stop them from speaking out. Because of the team’s reporting, one such officer-involved case was reopened after 10 years.
