A petition in Arkansas to limit damages and attorney fees for medical malpractice suits may have made it onto the November ballot in a questionable way.

KARK found that nursing home staffers may have solicited signatures from nursing home residents without properly explaining what they were signing. The measure, if passed in November, would reduce nursing home liability by significantly limiting the damages they would have to pay.

The Arkansas Supreme Court will hear a case involving possible flaws in the solicitation of these signatures before the November election.
