BailoutWatch is seeking an enterprising digger with data-analysis and web-production skills to join our team as a Data Reporter.
BailoutWatch is a news site tracking government efforts to prop up the fossil fuel industry under the banner of pandemic relief. We are a scrappy startup seeking to tell a fast-changing story with profound implications for the future of US climate policy. The person hired will have opportunities to wear different hats and collaborate with experienced experts and journalists across the environmental-climate space.
Our team already includes an experienced investigative reporter and professionals with deep experience in digital communications and campaigning. The person we add will help us to identify and pull down datasets, analyze data for news stories, and synthesize our findings to help shape the site as we build it out.
Experience with a data-visualization platform like Tableau is desirable, but we will be flexible about qualifications for the right applicant.
This is a part-time, telework position. Pay will be $20 – $30 an hour, commensurate with experience.
