Job Description:

The Reporter position in WBUR’s investigative unit will report and produce original, comprehensive stories for multiple platforms collaboration with ProPublica that are based on in-depth information gathered from interviews, public records, and data analysis. The Reporter will build relationships with multiple news sources and numerous subject areas and institutions. This position requires strong interviewing skills as well as deep knowledge of state and federal public records laws. The Reporter will request records as necessary, interpret them to formulate findings and communicate them to a variety of audiences in Greater Boston and New England, in audio production and multi-media digital platforms. Much of the work will be co-produced and co-published with ProPublica and also appear on ProPublica’s website. The Reporter will work with the investigative unit editor to translate complex issues — producing segments for radio, digital platforms, and live forums. Five years of experience in investigative reporting and exceptional writing skills are required.

Required Skills:

Bachelor’s degree required with at least five years of experience with investigative reporting for multi-media platforms, including radio.
