  • David Herzog is professor at the Missouri School of Journalism and serves as NICAR academic adviser. He's the author of Data Literacy: A User’s Guide (2015) SAGE Publications. He also helped launch the online M.S. in Data Science and Analytics program at the University of Missouri. @davidherzog

  • Daniel Lathrop is a professor of journalism at the University of Iowa. Prior to joining the academy, he spent 15 years in print and online newsrooms including the Center for Public Integrity, The Dallas Morning News and the Seattle P-I. His work has won numerous national awards, and he contributes as a freelance reporter to publications such as FiveThrityEight, The Marshall Project and The New York Times. @lathropd
