Speaker Bios

  • Mike Donoghue is an award-winning news and sports writer for over 4 decades with the Burlington Free Press. He is invited frequently to speak on various First Amendment/Journalism topics, including seeking public records, interviewing techniques, ethics and sports writing. St. Michael's College recruited him in 1985 to be an adjunct journalism professor. He is the Executive Director of the Vt. Press Association and on the board of the New England First Amendment Coalition.

  • Robert Hemley has represented the media in Vermont since 1976. He has handled news room issues such as access, public records and meetings requests, subpoenas,libel and privacy for the print and broadcast media throughout the state.
