Opioids came to dominate the U.S. drug trade and addiction more than a decade ago, causing tens of thousands of overdose deaths year after year. Police, public officials and the press are still struggling to understand an epidemic in which the drug is often distributed by major corporations, not smuggled across a border. This panel will provide tips and tools for tracking the prescription opioid supply chain, documenting the death toll in our communities, and analyzing drug enforcement locally and nationwide.
