To get the most reach out of your story, this session will explore how investigative reporters and newsrooms use social media tools, such as Facebook Live, and non-traditional partnerships to reach as big of an audience as possible, maximize impact and create a potential for change.
Christopher Baxter is the founding editor in chief of Spotlight PA, a statewide investigative newsroom based in Harrisburg, Pa., and in partnership with the Philadelphia Inquirer, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and the Lancaster Media Group. Previously, Baxter was the editor for data and investigations at NJ Advance Media (The Star-Ledger & NJ.com). He has served various roles as an investigative reporter, mentor, coach and editor. Erica is a national award-winning investigative reporter with experience ranging from documentary storytelling to quick-turn investigative news stories. Her nearly 7 years on the U.S./Mexico border has led to exposing human trafficking in Texas, revealing vulnerabilities at our Ports of Entry as well as showing cartel staging grounds on U.S. land.
