IRE Commons: How to enter the IRE Awards
Learn how to make your IRE Awards entry stand out from the pack with tips from IRE's contest manager and contest committee chair. We’ll talk about what to highlight to make your entry shine, what you should and shouldn't include, and best practices for filling out that pesky (but useful!) questionnaire.
As director of IRE's resource center, Lauren manages the annual IRE and Philip Meyer contests, maintains the ever-growing investigative stories library and tipsheet database, coordinates efforts for new and updated versions of IRE's beat book series, and offers research and backgrounding help to IRE's more than 5,000 members. She also helps coordinate and plan IRE's two annual conferences. Before coming to IRE, Lauren worked at the Missouri School of Journalism Library and the Columbia Missourian Newspaper Library. Jill Riepenhoff is a producer for InvestigateTV. Prior to joining the national TV team in 2017, she was an investigative reporter at The Columbus Dispatch for more than three decades. With that many years under her belt, she has written about all sorts of unsavory characters/agencies/laws. She also likes to dig into sports from time to time.
