Speaker Bios

  • Erica Byfield is an Emmy award winning general assignment reporter for WNBC-TV in New York City. She joined News 4 New York in September 2016. Prior to that she spent nearly 6 years working for WSB-TV in Atlanta as an investigative and general assignment reporter. She also worked for KMOV in St. Louis, MO and for KFVS in Cape Girardeau, MO. Awards for her work include several regional Emmy awards, two regional Edward R Murrow awards and she was an IRE medal finalist. @ericabyfield4ny

  • Corey Johnson is an investigative reporter at the Tampa Bay Times. His work has uncovered police corruption, coerced prison sterilizations, state regulatory failures, excessive governmental secrecy and university scandals. His efforts have won IRE's top prize, the Gold Medal, was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize and garnered many other state and national honors. @CoreyGJohnson
