Get honest advice and input from journalists who once had the same questions you have now. We’re planning small, mentor-led group discussions on international work, graduate school and fellowships, networking and more. This session is geared toward early-career journalists and students, though anyone of any career level is welcome.

Speaker Bios

  • Madi Alexander is a computational journalist at The Dallas Morning News. She was previously a data reporter at Bloomberg Government in Washington, D.C. Madi has a master's degree in journalism from the University of Missouri. She volunteers for the Dallas puppy-raising chapter of Guide Dogs for the Blind. Madi also keeps a database of all the national parks and historical sites she has visited — a total of 40 thus far. @MadiLAlexander

  • Aditi Bhandari (BSc Journalism) is a data journalist, freelance designer/developer and consultant for accessible design and digital media. She recently graduated from Northwestern University and has previously worked at WAMU 88.5 (web producer), NPR (accessibility intern), The Texas Tribune (data visuals fellow), The Boston Globe (web dev/graphics intern) and the Knight Lab (student fellow).
