Speaker Bios

  • Becca Aaronson is the first-ever product manager at The Texas Tribune. She manages the Tribune’s website redesign, coordinates cross-departmental projects and conducts user research to improve reader experience. She previously worked on the Tribune’s Data Visuals team as a developer and project manager, contributing to several award-winning investigative projects. @becca_aa

  • Joe is the Chief Nerd at Northwestern University Knight Lab, a community of designers, developers, students, and educators working on experiments designed to push journalism into new spaces. He's also the project lead for CensusReporter.org, and an alum of the Chicago Tribune News Applications team. Once a week he gets up before dawn to host "Conference of the Birds," an eclectic music radio show on WNUR-FM. Ask him for Chicago restaurant recommendations! @JoeGermuska

  • Emily Ingram is lead product manager at Chartbeat, where she builds tools to help publishers understand the nuances of reader behavior. Previously, she was a senior product manager at HuffPost and the Washington Post, where she started her career as a producer in the newsroom.
