Speaker Bios

  • Jodie is an investigative reporter with NBC4 in Washington and joined the IRE Board in 2019. Her work has changed laws regarding criminally-charged police officers, house stealing by sovereign citizens and misuse of a real estate law to hold up home sales.  Jodie has been honored by the FBI Director and the head of Georgia's police training agency. She's earned an IRE Award for Innovation, an Alfred I. duPont award, 18 regional Emmys and several Murrow awards. @jodienbc4

  • Harry Hairston is a Senior Investigative reporter for NBC10 News. Harry has received multiple Mid-Atlantic Emmy® awards for his work at NBC10. In 2015, he was first in the nation to report aggravated indecent sexual assault charges filed against Actor/Comedian Bill Cosby. Hairston was the first to report on the sexual allegations that later led to Cosby’s charges. In 2011 he was named Journalist of the Year by the Philadelphia Association of Black Journalists.

  • Chris Vanderveen's work on KUSA-TV's nationally recognized 9Wants to Know investigative team has led to changes in both state and federal law.  His ongoing "Show Us Your Bills" series highlighting the absurdities of the country's medical billing system has received, to date, a National Murrow Award, two Headliner Awards, the Sigma Delta Chi Award and this year's IRE Award for Broadcast/Video Division II. @chrisvanderveen
