Text mining in R with tidytext
Do you want to analyze the themes, sentiment, and complexity of every State of the Union address, or analyze how Members of congress responded on Twitter to @realDonaldTrump? This session will introduce you to the tools needed to tackle these and other challenges in text analysis in R, using the tidytext package.
This class is good for: those who are familiar with the basics of the tidyverse.
Peter is a reporter on the science desk at BuzzFeed News. Data projects include analysis of the text of a year of tweets by Donald Trump and all members of Congress in the first year of Trump's Twitter-led presidency, maps showing projected future coastal flooding under climate change and the risk of wildfires, and the use of machine learning to identify surveillance aircraft from flight-tracking data. @paldhous
