  • Erin is an investigative reporter for the USA Today Network based in Columbus, Ohio. She previously held city and county governments accountable in East Texas for the Tyler Morning Telegraph; covered health care, business, telecommunications, energy, and the Vermont Legislature for VTDigger.org; and wrote about town Select Boards for her hometown paper, the Rutland Herald.   • Ryan Thornburg has taught data reporting and more than 10 other courses at the University of North Carolina's Hussman School of Media & Journalism since 2007. He's trained professional and student journalists on five continents and previously led early digital efforts in various roles at The Washington Post and elsewhere. @rtburg
