Speaker Bios

  • Sandhya Kambhampati is a data reporter at the Los Angeles Times. Most recently, she worked at ProPublica Illinois, where she uses statistics to uncover structural issues and abuses. At ProPublica, she co-reported on the widespread inaccuracies in Cook County's property tax assessment system, which was a 2018 Pulitzer Prize Finalist in Local Reporting. Before that, she was a Knight-Mozilla fellow at Correctiv and a database reporter at Chronicle of Higher Education. Twitter: @sandhya__k

  • Matt Wynn is data reporter on USA Today's investigative team. His work has looked at copycat legislation, police and doctors who escape discipline and the medicalization of previously benign inconveniences. He is the former director of enterprise and investigations at Medpage Today and previously worked at the Omaha World-Herald.
