Job Summary

InvestigateWest, a 14-year-old nonprofit news organization, is seeking a full-time Investigative Editor to coach reporters and also support the organization’s Executive Director with operations and grant management. For the right candidate, this can be an incredible job! We’re a small but rapidly growing team, and you can have a huge impact here. Duties include: editing and coaching reporters (estimated 60% of workweek); grant research and oversight (35%); operations and administrative support (5%).

What you’ll need: impeccable news judgment and a deft hand with longform, investigative stories; management or supervisory experience; a can-do attitude and willingness to pitch in where needed to support a growing organization.

Location: Live anywhere in Washington, Oregon and Idaho

Compensation: $65,000-$75,000

Benefits: 100% employer-paid health insurance, 50% of dental, retirement contribution, a work computer, three weeks of vacation, 11 paid holidays and a monthly work-from-home stipend of $100.
Work schedule: Flexible, but generally 40 hours.
