U.S. Right to Know is seeking an investigative reporter to join an investigation of the origins of Covid-19, gain-of-function research and the collection, storage and manipulation of pathogens of pandemic potential.
The reporter will be responsible for obtaining documents and data, including through open records requests, that advance our investigation. They will share this information by writing articles and blog posts.
U.S. Right to Know is a nonprofit, public interest investigative research group. We promote transparency for public health. We work globally to expose corporate wrongdoing and government failures that threaten the integrity of our health, our environment and our food system.
Since 2015, we have gathered, reported on and posted online, thousands of industry and government documents, including many acquired through judicial enforcement of open records laws. Once-secret documents obtained by USRTK are now posted in the UCSF food and chemical industry documents libraries for free public access.
Findings of the USRTK investigations have been reported by news outlets around the world, including The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Science, BMJ, Guardian, New Yorker, Vanity Fair, Fox News, Le Monde, Der Spiegel, Time magazine, Boston Globe, CBC, Politico, STAT, Sky News Australia and many others.
The reporter may be based anywhere in the United States. This is a full-time position.
U.S. Right to Know is an equal opportunity employer. Women and people of color are strongly encouraged to apply. For more information about our work, please see usrtk.org.
