The Record investigates the impacts of Governor Whitman's pro-business policies, particularly on the environment and the state's job market. A consistent pattern of budget cuts weakened state oversight of industry. The cuts, paired with increased access to policymakers, enabled politically active business leaders to rewrite the regulations that govern their industries. (April 21 - July 14, 1996)
