Description

In 1992, the United States exported more than 1,950 tons of pesticides, whose domestic uses in the United States had been banned, suspended, or discontinued. In the next two years, domestically outlawed pesticides climbed another 46 percent. Spotty data hinder efforts to curb the spread of toxic pollutants. (March 16, 1996)
