The Paris News investigates Lamar County Humane Association and the battle for control over the animal adoption shelter. According to the article, LCHA is charged with financial mismanagement, tax evasion, and conflict of interest in allowing too much control of a non-profit by private business. The shelter may also lose $250,000 in monies donated from the estate of a wealthy benefactor. (June 9-13, 1996)
