For years, rumors have swirled around Dallas about how veteran Dallas city councilman Al Lipscomb could spend virtually all his waking hours working as a $50-a-meeting city councilman and manage to feed his family. The Dallas Observer investigates Lipscomb, his new career in chemical distribution, and his financially parasitic relationship with the Anglo business community that he has been publicly criticizing for years for the political benefit of his black constituents.
