KGTV-TV found a brain-damaged woman's missing trust fund money was being spent by her attorney. Further investigation revealed the attorney was on probation by the California State Bar for spending other clients' trust fund monies. "We found (the woman's) attorney was able to take (her) trust fund money during a funding crisis with the California State Bar. While legislators politicized funding of the Bar, the disciplinary unit was all but unstaffed and cases were falling through the cracks. (The) complaint was not being investigated and her attorney continued to practice law."
