New Times (Phoenix) tells the story of a FDIC lawyer who, while investigating the failure of an Arizona thrift, was fired for failing to overlook evidence after being ordered to by his superior; the thrift's director had been Fife Symington, governor of Arizona, and it had given a $30 million dollar loan to a development whose developer was Symington, Oct. 9, 1991.
