IRE Board elects officers for 2026-27

(June 24, 2026) — Josh Hinkle, KXAN, has been re-elected as president of the Investigative Reporters and Editors Board of Directors. Cindy Galli of MS NOW is the new vice president.

The IRE Board elected officers for 2026-27 at a meeting on Wednesday, June 24, 2026.

Alejandra Cancino, a freelance investigative journalist and adjunct journalism professor, has been elected treasurer; Jodie Fleischer of Cox Media Group has been elected secretary, and Caresse Jackman of InvestigateTV/Gray Media has been elected as the new at-large officer.

Other board members are Ashley Graham, KSLA News 12 in Shreveport, Louisiana; Kate Howard, at Reveal for the Center for Investigative Reporting; Aaron Kessler, The Associated Press; Andy Lehren, Mongabay and CUNY’s Graduate School of Journalism; Ana Ley, The New York Times; Brian Rosenthal, The New York Times; Paroma Soni, POLITICO; Katie Wilcox, The Beam at the Howard Center for Investigative Reporting at ASU

The next major IRE conference is the all-virtual AccessFest26, set for Oct. 8-10. Registration will open soon, with a flat rate of just $76 for professionals and $26 for students, to celebrate 50 years of IRE Conferences.
