2018 Python Boot Camp (Pittsburgh)

IRE and Point Park University in Pittsburgh are offering a special hands-on workshop October 5-7 covering the fundamentals of Python programming. Exercises will include web scraping, preparing data for analysis and automating repetitive tasks to speed up your reporting.
The course will be taught using Python, but the concepts will also be applicable to other programming languages. It will cover topics like how to write and run code, how to use programming libraries to avoid reinventing the wheel and how journalists make use of these techniques to produce award-winning work.
No programming experience is necessary, but attendees should have experience working with data in spreadsheets, database managers or other analysis tools. Computers will be provided for the training.
Workshop date/times: The workshop will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
Parking: Parking is available in a garage near the training for a fee.
