Phoenix New Times highlights Charter Hospital and the incident of when a woman who succeeded in killing herself while under alleged observation for suicide. The woman was in the for-profit psychiatric hospital for assistance with over-coming feelings of shame from childhood sexual abuse and subsequent suicide attempts. Local and national Charter officials deny they could have prevented Debbie Townsend's suicide.
