  • Best for the children

We revealed that at least 150 children have been abused in Sweden over the last three years, despite the fact that social services knew about their situation and should have been able to help them. Almost half of the children were children already in care, therefore even more vulnerable, where the social welfare service failed to act to help them, or acted in a way that increased their suffering. There are most probably many more children that have been abused, than the 150 we were able to detect. We were only able to survey the cases known to the Health and Social Care Inspectorate. But in our review we could reveal that 50 municipalities, one in six, have never reported any mistakes on serious misconduct concerning children. This is something that experts interpret as highly unlikely and a serious sign of underreporting.
  • The Trans Train

The number of teenage girls who are seeking transgender care, has increased with thousands of percentages over the last couple of years. Many of them suffer from other diagnoses, such as Asbergers, ADHD, and self harm behavior. We could reveal that despite this being a new group in the trans gender health care clinics, they get the same treatments as previous patients in the trans gender care sector. Their bodies are transformed with hormones and transgender corrective surgery; sometimes it’s only a matter of weeks from the first visit at the clinic until the treatment commences.
  • The Biggest Bribe in Swedish History? TeliaSonera and Azerbaijan’s dictator

As a result of Swedish Television's previous revelations, with suspected bribes in Uzbekistan, telecom TeliaSonera's new management said it would clean up the company's dirty past. But SVT, TT and the OCCRP this year revealed yet another suspect bribery affair - with a dictatorship – which the management had not reported to the police. It is by far the biggest alleged bribe in Sweden’s history, where the Swedish telecom giant is suspected of having enriched the Azerbaijani presidential family with up to 1 billion US dollars (depending on exchange rate) – for an asset taken from the Azeri people. • Mission Investigate: The Swedish Nazis

In December 2013 36-year-old Fidel Ugo from Nigeria got stabbed in a Stockholm suburb by a group of Nazis, and he almost blead to death. The police investigation into the knife attack was soon discontinued and no one was charged for this obvious hate crime. When the reporters of SVT's current affairs magazine Mission Investigate starts scrutinizing the case they soon identify the perpetrators as members of a nazi organisation called The Swedish Resistance Movement (SMR). The reportage has been called the most important in Mission Investigate's history and gained enormous attention when aired in Sweden in April 2014. The police was heavily criticized for its shoddy investigation, but after the reportage was broadcast the case was reopened again. Three members of SMR are now suspected of attempted murder and they face up to 8 years in prison.
