Mentorship Program
Investigative Reporters and Editors has a rich legacy of mentorship and collaboration. While we host several conferences and training events, you don't have to wait for one to get mentoring!
IRE is proud to announce our new online mentoring platform. For students and early-career journalists, this is an opportunity to connect with IRE members and get advice on investigative journalism or navigating the media industry. For mentors, this is a way to give back and share the wisdom you've gained over the years.
How to sign up as a mentor
You must be an active IRE member to be listed as a mentor on our new site. (Information from your member profile will become part of your mentor page, as well.) If you aren't a member, or your membership has expired, visit the member portal to join or renew.
This is a public page, so you can expect to receive inquiries from journalists outside IRE, as well.
Once you've confirmed that you have an active membership, navigate to the member portal and click "Account profile":

Then, click the pencil icon in the "My Personal Information" box:

Scroll to the bottom of your profile and find the section marked "IRE mentor program":

Make sure you check the box next to the label "Would you like to be listed online as an IRE mentor?" Fill out the other fields as applicable. Make sure to click save.
