Mississippi's Critical Teacher Shortage

For more than two decades now, Mississippi has struggled to keep certified teachers in the classroom especially in the Mississippi Delta, one of the most historically underserved areas in the nation. Thats essentially an entire generation of Mississippians who likely didnt receive an adequate education. Dismissed

From 2014 through 2018, prosecutors in Mecklenburg County, N.C. dismissed nearly 70% of weapons charges, a rate higher than any of the state's other urban counties. Many who had charges dismissed were arrested again for weapons crimes. In fact, reporters identified more than 120 people in Mecklenburg who were charged with at least a dozen weapons crimes in the past five years. Prosecutors dropped most of those charges.
