“Questionable Coverage” was a hidden camera investigative report about systematic health insurance scams affecting victims in nearly every state. As a direct result of our reporting, two companies ceased operations, a third has been sanctioned, and insurance regulators in Georgia and New York have launched their own investigations into the fraud.

Land Flips Sting Taxpayers
The Gwinett County school district is not only Georgia's largest, but arguably its most highly regarded after winning a prestigious award as the nation's top urban district. However, while the district celebrated its national acclaim, the Journal-Constitution began scrutinizing its unusually secretive land-purchasing program. After analyzing all the district's land purchases over the past 12 years, the Journal-Constitution focused on 11 mullti-million dollar transactions, many of them involving prominent and politically connected real estate developers.

Unredacted Harassment
An ongoing investigation by the Red & Black showed professors continued to violate sexual harassment policies and get away with it at the University of Georgia, and to make matters worse, those who came forward and who were told their identities would be protected, discovered their names were not redacted in documents sent out by UGA to those requesting such documents.

"Arrested Developments: Crime Streets of Athens"
The staff of The Red & Black spent several months collecting and compiling crime documents from law enforcement departments throughout Athens, Ga. The student reporters wanted to find and report current information on the "most crime-ridden residential streets in Athens-Clarke County," which is where the University of Georgia is located. The UGA population (students, faculty and staff) makes up a "big chunk" of Athens. The Red & Black takes a look at crime in the area to see whether or not the higher crime areas have an affect on those who "attend and work" at the university.

Polluted Mashavera
The documentary examines the pollution caused by a Georgian gold mining company. Fruits and vegetables grown nearby and exposed to the pollution are being sold all over Georgia. There may be a link between the mining and the growing number of people in the region with cancer.

"Defective Drywall Series: Made in the U.S.A.?"
An investigation into faulty drywall arose after "devastating" structural damage occurred in homes across the U.S. Health concerns were also called into questions as some of the drywall proved to be toxic. At first Chinese produced drywall was blamed, but further in-depth investigation revealed that in was American made drywall that was being produced at a low, almost dangerous quality.

Charity Paid Leaders $2.5M
Angel Food Ministries Inc. is a charity that distributes discount groceries to people in need. However, the founding Georgian family received $2.5 million in pay to operate the organization. Questions surrounding whether the charity is completely legitimate surfaced when further investigation revealed insider loan activity in the charity as well.

Speaker Richardson
Georgia state politics fell apart after House Speaker Glenn Richardson's ex-wife revealed he'd had an affair and had lied about attempting suicide. His wife also had e-mails detailing how a lobbyist had aided her now ex-husband with the adultery. Richardson resigned and eventually the other "top three" House leaders were voted out of their positions.

"The Town & Gown killings"
Longtime UGA professor, George M. Zinkhan, murdered three people, including his wife, at a spring picnic before disappearing for two weeks. Police later found him dead in a self-dug grave near his home in Athens.
