    Serious crimes and even the deaths of passengers can occur in the alcohol-friendly environment of a cruise line. A hidden camera investigation shows that ships do not follow their own alcohol policies, make a large profit from sales, and do little to prevent alcohol abuse.

  • Sex, drugs and study abroad: Overseas sites den of booze, debauchery

    The Washington Square News, the student paper of New York University, finds that students studying abroad are more likely to use alcohol and drugs while studying in other countries than they are while on campus at home. The paper conducted a survey of NYU students who studied abroad, and found that students were twice as likely to drink or do drugs abroad, and three times more likely to observe others doing the same. However, students did report engaging in less sexual activity abroad than at home.

    WMAQ-TV (Chicago) finds Chicago Police policy "says if you've committed a crime you can't get on the force -- unless-- the superintendent says it's ok. At the Chicago Police Department, the superintendent gives his ok to hiring persons guilty of crimes like aggravated assault, battery, theft... Then (WMAQ) learned that some of the officers convicted of batteries prior to being hired were among Chicago's most brutal officers today... Finally, a story about sex, booze and a nude photo session at a Chicago Police Station..."
