Description

The Austin American-Statesman investigates the status of hundreds of disabled and chronically ill children living in Texas' nursing homes. The series notes that the children live in desperate and miserable consditions in nursing homes that have been sued by the attorney general's office for failing to safeguard the health and safety of the residents. The series details the reasons why such children end up in such nursing homes and the fact that home care and other options are scarce and expensive. Dec. 12 - 16, 1993.
