Summary KPNX-TV tests the air quality of approximately 80 grocery stores to find that buffing machines used to give store floors a slick shine spit out dangerous levels of carbon monoxide. In many cases levels were high enough to make employees and customers sick. Even though store officials were aware of the health hazards, they ignored the risk to the public in order to use the more cost-effective machines. (Dec. 17, 1996)
