Description

Tanenbaum explores the double standard of sexuality applied to men and women, particularly in the use of the epithet "slut" to degrade a female. Drawing on personal experience as well the several case studies, the author explores how both boys and girls use this epithet to blacklist other girls suspected of being sexually promiscuous and how this emotional abuse manifests itself in its victims.
