This workshop is specifically designed to support Indigenous students and students of all backgrounds attending Tribal Colleges and Universities, Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander-Serving Institutions, Alaska Native- and Native Hawaiian-Serving Institutions and Native American-Serving Nontribal Institutions nationwide.

Students will learn a variety of investigative skills, including techniques for conducting investigative interviews, accessing public information, and leveraging the power of data and AI.

This workshop is made possible by the Rick Gevers-Karen Burns Diversity Endowed Fund for College Journalists, established to support training at HBCUs, HSIs, and other campuses serving student journalists of color.

  • On Thursday, Feb. 12, the workshop will run from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. with optional hands-on data training.
  • Following Thursday's afternoon sessions, the event will feature a networking mixer with local journalists. More details to come.
  • On Friday, Feb. 13, the workshop will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The workshop will be held at the Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits.
