WJAR decided to investigate findings from a state probe into a Coventry group home and its treatment of resident, Audrey Whitford. WJAR obtained a final investigative report conducted by a state oversight agency into her alleged abuse. Abuse centering around inhumane treatment, withholding food and medicine and unnecessary restraints ordered by former staff psychologist, Dr. Robert Harris. The investigation also found that Harris was fired from the Trudeau Center as a result of the investigation. (December 5, 6, 1996)
