•  Just Added:  IRE Award Winner, Jason Berry will be signing his book, "Render Unto Rome: The Secret Life of Money in the Catholic Church".  The signing will immediately follow the IRE Awards Luncheon. 

Signings will take place next to the IRE Sales Table on the 4th floor.

Complimentary wireless Internet is being offered throughout the meeting space during the IRE conference. Choose IRE2012 network. Click on “Connect to the Internet” by the Marriott logo on the web page. The code is “IRE”. In addition, attendees staying at the Boston Marriott Copley Place receive a discounted rate on Internet in their guest rooms.

• Saturday sessions in Salon E will now be in St. Botolph on the 2^nd floor. The membership meeting will still be held in Salon E at 6 p.m.

• IRE Conference Focus Group
  8 a.m., Saturday, June 16 in Suffolk

  Please join us over a cup of coffee to discuss what attracted you to the conference and what you’d like to see in future years.

• Advanced functions in Excel, hands-on on Saturday from 4:50 p.m. to 5:50 p.m. in Wellesley. It will be taught by Aaron Kessler, 100 Reporters.
• Using public records to shine a light on the dark side of the healthcare crisis will be at 3:40 p.m. on Saturday in the Arlington-Berkley room.
  Deadly drugs, fraud and systemic safety problems at major hospitals are just some of the issues reporters investigated and uncovered in the past year using public records. Learn about the public records (including databases) that can be used to find wrongdoing and the strategies to use them effectively to find and tell important stories.

Conference evaluations
New for the IRE conference – we will be sending out daily evaluations to gather your feedback on the sessions you attended that day.  Please take a moment to complete these evaluations, as they are important as we plan next year’s conference.  We will also send a full evaluation after the conference.  Thank you in advance for taking the time to complete the evaluation.

• Sarah Moughty, “Frontline,” replaces Raney Aronson-Rath on the panel Managers: Managing the multimedia project on Saturday at 9:40 a.m.
  As senior digital producer, Moughty oversees the editorial and production of “Frontline’s” website. She has produced the websites of many of “Frontline’s” special projects, including “Law & Disorder,” which won the Online News Association's Gannett Foundation Award for Innovative Investigative Journalism; “Bush's War,” which was nominated for an Emmy Award for New Approaches to News and Documentaries, and “The Age of AIDS.”
• On the beat: Government has been moved to Saturday at 9:40 a.m. in Salon E.
• Guilty until proven innocent occurred Friday.
• Al Tompkins’ panel name has been changed to Let’s get critical.
• Jo Becker, The New York Times will not be on The art of source development panel
• Melissa Ludkte, Schuster Institute, will be joining Truthiness and investigative reporting at 10:50 a.m.
