IRE Oklahoma City Watchdog Workshop (April 12 & 13)

Elevate your investigative and data skills by joining IRE for a day and a half of professional development training at the Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits, April 12 and 13, 2024.

This workshop will have something for everyone — whether you're a reporter, student, editor, educator, producer, freelancer or all of the above and then some — you'll be guaranteed a plethora of new tips, tricks, and skills for your tool belt, ideas for your next story and connections with some of the top investigative and data journalists in the country.

And you’ve got options! Join us on Friday to hear from award-winning investigative and data journalists, and on Saturday morning to learn the power of spreadsheets. Or, both days to give your career the ultimate boost.

The workshop will run from 9 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. on Friday, April 12 and 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 13 (half-day of hands-on Google Sheets training).

Workshop Fees

Thanks to generous support from the Oklahoma Media Center, registration for professional, academic, retiree and associate members is just $55 and comes with a free one-year membership to IRE. Student members can register for $25 and will also receive a free one-year membership.

Optional hands-on training Saturday morning (additional fee of $15, seating is limited, Friday registration is not required to sign up).

Location

The workshop will be held at The Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits located at 701 N. Lindsay Ave., Oklahoma City, OK 73104.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be sent via email to logistics@ire.org. All cancellations must be in writing. There is a $30 processing fee for all cancellations until April 5. After that date, requests for refunds will be considered case by case. Membership fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Recording Notice

All IRE events are subject to being photographed, video/audio-recorded, screen captured and/or live-streamed. Attendees, speakers, sponsors and exhibitors may be captured via these formats. All sessions, materials and activities are subject to recording by IRE and may be reproduced in part or whole, and distributed or used in any way consistent with IRE’s mission.
